The Dipolog Design Center held its first Photography Workshop for beginners with Freger S. Reyes as the primary resource speaker. The 2-day workshop included lectures, a photowalk and concluded with a dinner at Cafe Isabelle where participants were awarded their certificates.
The successful attendees were Shanie Jacinto, Rich Anguilid, Jojo Acorin, Eugene Canoy, Alfred Lou Saldariega, Elizabeth Sugod, Ariel Parilla, Teresa Torio, Anthon John Soriano, Radette Adorio, Heddy Lynn Elumbaring, Mary Angelyn Elagor and Rexor Manigsaca.
Dipolog Design Center (DDC) senior partner Aleksi Mari Gumela announced that due to the success of this project similar workshops on photography, Photoshop and other subjects will be held this summer and the rest of the year.
The Dipolog Design Center is the newest design and video/photo production shop in the area, established to provide local individuals, businesses and organizations with world-class graphics, presentations and events.
As part of the community, DDC also collaborates with non-profits and civic organizations to assist in their various charitable activities

Pursuant to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Resolution Nos. 8750 and 8751 and other laws governing the conduct of the 2010 Philippine National Elections, the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago would like to inform the Overseas Absentee Voters (OAVs) in the Midwest that the casting of votes will be for a period of thirty (30) calendar days beginning at 8:00 A.M. of 10 April 2010 (local time) until 5:00 A.M. of 10 May 2010 (local time).
The COMELEC has started sending by mail official ballots directly to the residence of the qualified Overseas Absentee Voters in the United States. The COMELEC has authorized postal voting forOAVs in the Midwest region.
The Overseas Absentee Voters are advised to read and carefully follow the instructions in the electoral mail that will be received via the United States Postal Service (USPS). For OAVs whose electoral mails are received by the Consulate General from the USPS, the said Overseas Absentee Voters are advised to access the Consulate General’s website at www.chicagopcg.com for the Updated List of Electoral Ballots To Be Claimed By Overseas Absentee Voters and the procedures in claiming the electoral mail.
The Overseas Absentee Voters are likewise enjoined to refer to the Consulate General’s website for the step-by-step COMELEC’s Postal Voting Instructions to Voters.
If one was able to register as an overseas absentee voter with the Consulate General, please visit the website of the COMELEC at www.comelec.gov.ph for the updated list of registered Overseas Absentee Voters (OAVs) who are qualified to vote in the forthcoming national elections. The COMELEC list also contained the approved OAV applications of qualified Filipinos in the Midwest who registered as Overseas Absentee Voters in the Consulate General from 01 February to 31 August 2009.
