Fr. Allan Lastimosa led a healing mass for Mrs. Cita O. Bajamude who is undergoing treatment for cancer. In a massive show of support, friends and family filled a community center hall in Park Ridge, Illinois.
Ma’am Cita, as she is known in the community was visibly touched and cheered by a crowd that included those who drove in from the far suburbs, bearing kind words, food and kids of all sizes.
Son Ian and her relatives extend their heartfelt appreciation to all who attended this very special gathering.
Mrs. Bajamunde was last year’s Ambibo.com Person of the Year in recognition of her contribution to the preservation of Filipino heritage within the community, especially for her efforts at organizing the 2 annual fiesta celebrations for Dipolognons in Chicago.

The Healing Mass itself was so touching but the most part of it was how the Dipolognons or ZaNorteans as a whole and friends can gather to celebrate a “life” and to help someone be healed. The mass was intended for the sick and also, those who have passed away, the late Demosthenes Patangan, was one of those mentioned. I am grateful to be a ZaNortean, we have proven time and again that we are united in laughter and in sorrow, away from our homeland.GOD bless us all.

The teeming presence of comforting friends & relatives at Ma’am Cita’s healing mass was clearly a manifestation of Zanorteans’ attachment & love for her, who renewed their faith in the healing power of our Lord….praying that Ma’am Cita’s “pain will cease, her strength will increase and fears will be released.” The photos aptly captured the solemn aura of the occasion.
