Gia Shemuele C. Bilog is the only child of Irwin Raymund T. Bilog & Gilcel Cruz-Bilog and the youngest granddaughter of International Master Mariner (Rt.) Joeven M. Bilog, Jr. A fifth grader of Chicago’s William Hibbard Elementary School, Gia is a consistent “A Honor Roll” student in its gifted class program since kindergarten.
Ten year old Gia dances ballet since 5 and is currently doing character dances along with it. She auditioned and was accepted by the touring dance group Moscow Ballet Company who came to the USA this year. She performed in this joint American-Russian production on the Great Russian Nutcracker in Rosemont Theater with select young ballerinas of Chicago together with renowned Russian ballet masters & artists in December 2008.
As member of her school paper’s editorial staff and participant of many after-school activities, Gia’s schedule is pretty booked yet she says she’s “lovin’ it.” She finds time to bike, swim, draw, sing, play all kinds of sports and even go out with her five best friends for lunches and movies. She especially loves to spend time with her Dad and Mom and travels a lot with them around the country and the Philippines.
Gia mulls about what she wants to be when she grows up. She said she may be a writer, teacher (like her mom who teaches Sunday school), lawyer, fashion designer or an artist. She wondered if she can be all that and aims to find time to be all of it. She said her dreams are as big as her heart would allow it to grow and she knows she’ll have time.

My message is not for Gia but for Irwin and Gigi,you have to prepare yourself for the inevitable: how to handle Gia’s admirers, on Gia’s becoming famous, on Gia’s choices in the future, which may contradict yours(especially in matters of the heart), well, I’m sure you have expected this, by the way, nganong wala pamay manghod si Gia?

Now I know why your Dad and Mom are sooo proud of you! And of course, all of us, too! You’re not just a pretty face, you’ve got loads of talents, too! Keep it up, girl! The first time I saw you when you were still a baby, i know you would someday go to places…
