Michelle Eguia . A simple girl from a town in ZaNorte. Known for her kindness and beautiful aura. Never did she imagine herself a beauty queen until she was crowned Ms. Hudyaka ZaNorte 2008.

Ambibo et al,
Appreciate your effort in bringing Michelle’s beauty to the eyes of the world. She’s an absolute stunner and head turner. Congratulations to the parents of this young lass.

May we know the parents if this young lass, she’s really pretty and so innocent looking, do you think her innocence is the reason why she can be manipulated to wear a tattered tshirt or maybe, just because I am not an expert in photography, I am looking at the photo style in a different perspective. I’m sorry, but don’t you think she could have projected herself better as Miss ZN Hudyaka 2008,especially that her photos are posted in the Internet by not wearing a tattered tshirt, she looks more like a pretty actress who just survived a plane crash in a television episode of “Lost”.

one of the freshest faces to grace this site.. way to go. pretty and lucky too. she can be photographed in whatever attire, i guess – and the face will remain pretty. many of us who may not be as lucky, may just be too be plain looking, even bordering on the fugly (as in f*** ugly) side, will continue to appreciate and give credit when due and pay no heed to the opinion of the fashionistas as well as the fashion police. i will also keep judgment on the attire of those photographed here private since i will probably be “Lost for Words” should my descriptions of some of the photos linked on this site be published. she is gorgeous!!!

Thank you “Bali Pud” for reacting to my comment. Again, if you analyze closely my comment and not being “lost in translation”,it wasn’t about the physical appearance of Michelle, she’s gorgeous and pretty,no question about that, who am I to judge her looks, we might not be friends but let me physically describe myself to you, I am just, to quote you “plain looking, even bordering on the fugly( as in f***ugly)side, but with a kind heart, no one has the right to criticize the physical appearance of a person because GOD created you just the way you are,you could just imagine how chaotic a world can be if the people can get all they want, including a pretty face, I was just commenting on the tattered tshirt(with Michelle, tattered tshirt or not,she will be as pretty as ever),it wasn’t also about being a fashionista, anyhow, one of the phone calls that I received after reading my comment, already gave me the answer,it was explained that, I shouldn’t question ones artwork. Photograhy, especially one like that of Michelle’s, is an expression of the feelings and ideals of the artist, Michelle wasn’t manipulated, being Miss ZN Hudyaka, she has the brains not to allow herself to be one, she was made to understand the concept, the meaning of what the photographer wants her to project, again, I am not an expert in photography, sorry about that,I should probably look beyond the works of Armand Frasco,Joem Castlebay and Benjie Urbina , to understand the choices and taste of other photographers. By the way,the reason also why I asked for the name of Michelle’s parents, I just thought they are my contemporaries, nothing more.

Bujaryjary, I got another call about you, I was told you very professional in your world of photography and that I may know more about you when I visit Dipolog this December. Again, I didn’t mean to criticize or being unappreciative of your artwork, see you soon.

Hello to you Ma’am Maria Cyd Adriatico! :) Thank you for appreciating every detail of the photo. But I’d like to say something not against your words but something in the photo that you might missed to notice.
There’s so much more than that that of the “tattered shirt”, actually. My concept was to bring out the NATURAL beauty in her. It was her suggestion and choice to make her white plain shirt that way. Again, it was her choice. When I do photoshoots here in Dipolog, I just suggest the outfits but I don’t demand. I let them wear anything that could make them feel comfortable.
Yes, I agree. You should appreciate every person’s field of interest. As you mentiond “especially that her photos are posted in the Internet by not wearing a tattered tshirt, she looks more like a pretty actress who just survived a plane crash in a television episode of “Lost”.”, might as well reflect. Please try to ask why she was wearing that shirt. There’s always a 2 sides of the coin.
By the way, please click my name. You’ll see her other outfit. Thank you.

And by the way, SHE WAS NOT MANIPULATED. I don’t do that. And it doesn’t mean that if you are a beauty queen you are required to wear that of the given queen’s outfit. Besides, Michelle isn’t that type of girl. She’s simple in her own way and I would not take that out of her just for this shoot.
Thank you. :)

Congratulations, Jary! This set is really one of my favorite projects of yours. No wonder I shared in the excitement when I noticed them here in Ambibo.
I can’t help smiling over the capitalized word. NATURAL. Hey, that’s my line!haha=P
Pertaining the attire… twas adventurous of you guys to sport this look. If you ask me, I’ve seen enough of beauty queens in bikinis. This is way better. Keep up the unique, good work!

Hello Bujaryjary, thank you for making the whole picture clear to me and for understanding my opinion and for letting me understand the ethics of your line of work. Sure, there’s a truth in what I heard about you, that you’re very professional, in what you do and how you present yourself. Let us put an end to this unfriendly atmosphere and I look forward in meeting you come December. GOD speed.
August 30th, 2008 at 8:24 am
nice work there, Bujaryjary. but for us, plain-lookers and fuglies alike, probably no amount of manipulation by you, even with our sundays’s best, would warrant a featured spot in this site that can generate as much interest and comments from well meaning readers. to the lovely and lucky michelle – i rest my case. you lighten up too for it is never your fault to be born with such as gorgeous face. ahem. congrats

To Little Tikla: Thank you very much for appreciating my works. Well, you always do. :) That is more than ventilation. Hahaha! Make some coffee and bread, this deserves a toast. A bread toast. :p Hope you’ll be my subject soon.
To Deslee: I think I know you already or maybe you just have the same name with a friend of mine. But thank you so much. Hope to know you too. :)
To Maria Cyd Adriatico: Thank you too, ma’am. For being an open minded person. And that’s a sure thing, we’ll meet this December. :)
To Bali Pud: Thank you. I don’t manipulate. That’s not my style. Cheers! :)

her shirt is really ugly…i don’t get it at all…she’s pretty but the shirt makes her look like trash…
August 30th, 2008 at 11:09 pm
I think the focus of the shoot was to highlight the beauty of the subject. Contrast was provided by the “tattered shirt”, yet her angelic face stood out despite of the perceived ugliness of what she wore. Give credit to the young lady and to the artist who made this happen. After all, this not about haute couture but Michelle. Come on guys, show your love.
my two cents,
troy

I just can’t believe stereotyping is a trend.
Thank you Beauty and Troy.

Astounding innocence projected in a genuinely beautiful face! Adding to the great work of art is the evergreen lush of an authentic natural environment. To the artist behind the scene and to the subject projected, what else could I say? Excellent and congratulations!

hello!thank you so much for your comments…it had really made me happy knowing that people appreciated our shoot..
if you are all puzzled with the tattered shirt i was wearing..well,the concept was tribal and it was my decision to make my shirt that way.. all of my photoshoots before showed me in bikinis, gowns and in a “glamorous” and “queenly” way…. i wanted to do something where people will see a different mechelle.. not as a ms. zanorte.. but as mechelle stephanie eguia.. and that tattered shirt represented ME.. i was just a nobody before…and had been through bad times just like that tattered shirt….until i was crowned as ms. zanorte… life had changed.. and that was represented by my background on the pic.. the green lush of an authentic natural environment(as what ma’am badette lariosa had said =D).. the greener pasture that i am enjoying now…and these pictures best represented me..my past and my present all taken in just one click of jarian’s camera…
that tattered shirt reminds me of what i was before my luck came..i want to tell people that eventhough they may see me in heels and gowns now… i will never forget my tattered shirt.. i will never let go of my past..
hope i had shed even just a little light here about the tattered shirt i was wearing.. i know the explanation was somewhat dramatic.. hahahahaha… but i know everyone of us has our own tattered shirts, our own struggles and hardships in our past..
ok ill stop now.. i dont want to be super dramatic.. hehehe
anyway, i am really really thankful for the people who admired our work.. :D
god bless to all of you…

very lovely indeed!!that’s what we called “Beauty of a true filipina”.
September 14th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
Mechelle, tattered shirt or not, you are lovely.Had you posted your comment right after the one I did on August 28,or had that been the caption of your photos(like what Miracle Romano did in Faces), someone like me who looks at photos at its face value could have understood your choice of attire for that specific photo shoot and the very unfriendly exchange of comments could have been avoided. I never saw any of your photos in bikinis or in glamorous gowns, that’s why it came as a surprise to come across our Miss ZN Hudyaka 2008 in that attire for photos posted in the widely viewed Ambibo. You and Bujaryjary have made your point, I respect that. GOD speed!

October 1st, 2008 at 9:34 pm
my mom was from roxas and my father was a belgian.. but im currently leaving here in katipunan with my aunt.. :) btw, my parents are…ma. dalisay eguia and patrick j. magerman… we lived here in dpolog wen i was 3 to 9 yrs old then transfer to luzon… and now, only i came back…
maybe some of you would recognize my father.. we had a pizza parlor once in fsa.. pizza deli..that was in the year 1998 i think… i but i guess only few could remember that and mostly would be foreigners.. bcause they were our constant customers.. hehe..
