Chino’s body will be flown home on Sunday, August 10 and expected to arrive in Dipolog on Tuesday, August 12 Thursday, August 14. He is accompanied by his mom. Ambibo.com will be providing extensive coverage of this last leg of Chino’s journey home.

I barely knew Chino yet I’m here, the last person from home to see him off.
Classic hi! and goodbye! So soon. So tragic. So final.
Death is always difficult to accept. Dying young, dying afar,
dying alone is almost unbearable.
I wasn’t at his wake but can almost hear the crying and the mourning
still echoing from the empty halls.
He disappeared into the light, a sight so tempting for the living who must grieve and go on. We honor our dead by living our best life.
Signed, sealed and delivered . I saw the paperworks Chino needed to get home. They reminded me of a diploma. This dude definitely graduated with honors.
Thinking outside the box. Chino has gone ahead, to make way for us who are left behind.
Soon he will be a fond memory, his every act of kindness and humor to be a part of us forever.
Life is a journey and all of us must take this ultimate trip. What happens along the way; the loves
we meet, the hardships we endure and the joys we encounter are part of this exhilarating life.
One last look. A final glimpse before he leaves. I patted the immaculate white box and whispered goodbye to a good friend I never met.

i jst can’t believe ’twas u he’s referring to..
d frst thing dat came across my mind was
during my first day at SVC, wen i was in 2ndyr..
i was so scared, then i saw u..
i was sort of relieved bcoz u were also from ZNNHS..
a part of me bcame a little bit confident then
since i had dz feeling of “hindi lng pla aq ang ng.transfer so
my kahati aq sa fEar, shame, etc.”
’twas ironic though bcoz ‘di tau fRndz back in ZNNHS,
mgkakilala lng by sa face..but then u smiled at me,
and asked me, “ni.transfer pud d.i kah?”
and i said “yes”..
and u said, “pareha rta ani..hehe..kta2x rta”..
and i said, “xgeh”, w/ d smile of relief and confidence.
jst lyk dat, and then u bcame 1 of d rzOns y i made it through..
a gud start, i’d say..
so, thaNks a lot..
8s so sad things 4 u has gone too early..but im sure u’re happy..

july 19, 2008 at bro. edison & sis. angga else’s house that i met chino for the first & the last time. nitingkag akong dalunggan pag-ingon nga ochotorena siya cuz’ relatives man namo nang mga ocho….we have a very short conversation but recalling that night nga palangga jud siya sa tanan i know that he is a fine young man and a good friend to all. chino, i know that you are now in a place were hapinness does not end and a life everlasting with the Lord.please pray also for us the living . . . may you rest in peace….

Family sources say Chino had endocarditis.
The doctors recommended immediate surgery to replace his mitral and aortic valves but he succumbed to a cardiac arrest following the procedure.

First of all I would like to thank this website for doing a very good job for covering the last journey of Chino. It’s so sad that I did not have a chance to know him. Chino, I am your lola Citas’ younger sister.It was too late when your Aunt Joy called me here in New Jersey and 2 days later you will be flown to the Philippines.Your mom told me about you and I was thinking that I will meet you in Chicago someday but Almighty God took you at a very young age. Just got back here in Cebu from a short vacation at home welcoming the New Year. Chin, the past New Year celebration was the family’s first since you left us. The usual family routine was still done but deep in our hearts we felt the pain of having a void that no one can replace. Yeah, nobody cn replace you, there was, there is and there will only be one Chino in the family. Belated Merry Christmas, Chin.

I remember advising you to study Computer Science when I asked you what course are you gonna take up in college, and you were still undecided..
