The victorious Dapitan Team composed of members of the Circulo de Dapitanon pose with their trophy after winning this year’s Hudyaka Sportsfest (Volleyball) held Saturday, July 7 at Proesel Park in Skokie, IL.
Second prize was won by the Chicago Dirt Riders. Majority of this sports club’s membership comes from Zanortians in the Chicagoland area.
Some of the candidates for the 2007 Miss ZAMNAI in Illinois were introduced at today’s event. They represent Dapitan, Dipolog and Polanco. More contestants are expected to be announced soon.
“Hudyaka” means a “great moment of merry-making” in the Bisayan dialect. This stateside event is a nod to the week long festival back home that aims to promote the province as a tourist destination.
